Made in UK

Practical and sophisticated, the Original BTC lighting Task Ceramic Table Lamp captures the essence of authentic British design. Composed of Fine Bone China that is slip-cast and hand-molded in the north of England, the manner in which the clay is fired is what gives the shade a creamy and translucent quality once lit. The flared silhouette broadens the focus of light, and is made accessible with a ball-joint for the shade and adjustable swinging chrome arm.

An update of the classic bone china Hector, Original BTC’s first design, the Hector 21 Table Lamp features rows of crisply indented graduating squares inspired by the clean lines of the Stoke-on-Trent factory’s windows. Slip-cast molded by hand in a highly skilled, labor-intensive process, the shades and bases are smoothed with sponges before biscuit firing to achieve a pure, matte finish. Once complete, the bone china components are sent to the Oxford factory for assembly, matched with a back nickel stem and black cotton braided flex for a smart, monochrome finish. Ships with 59″ of cord.

Founded in 1990 by Peter Bowles, Original BTC is a lighting company rooted in national pride, manufacturing classic and industrial British design for contemporary homes. Encouraging local enterprise, all products are exclusively produced in the UK, utilizing factories in Oxford, Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent to hand-produce and assemble the fine bone china, aluminum and lighting components used in Original BTC fixtures. In 2010, Bowles acquired Davey Lighting (a heritage brand founded in 1885 as a maritime lighting supplier) enriching the brand with industrial-grade designs and traditional craftsmanship.
